Ben graduated from Texas A&M (2004) and worked for Anadarko Petroleum as a production and completion engineer in East Texas and reservoir engineer in the Delaware Basin before earning his MBA at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business in 2011. Since graduating, he has worked with Cypress as a reservoir engineer concentrating on asset evaluation and acquisition. Ben is now President of Cypress, focusing on business development and asset acquisition.

As a graduate of Louisiana Tech (1978) with a BS in Geology, Steve has worked as a geologist in the Ark-La-Tex area for 38 years. Initially with Placid Oil Co. and Texas Oil and Gas, Steve became a specialist in finding behind -pipe reserves and off-set drilling locations. Steve has been with Cypress for 32 years and focuses on exploration and development projects.

Jeff graduated from Louisiana State University (2001) and worked for Goodrich Petroleum Company as the Director of Land of Planning where he managed Goodrich's Haynesville Shale, Eagle Ford Shale, and Tuscaloosa Marine Shale assets. Jeff joined our team as Land Manager in 2018. He oversees and supervises the Land Department.

Austin graduated from Louisiana State University in 2016 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Prior to joining Cypress, Austin worked as a production/operations engineer for Sulphur River Exploration, an independent oil and gas company based out of Dallas. Austin joined Cypress in 2020 and focuses on production management, drilling and field operations.

Phil graduated from Louisiana Tech (1972) and has been working as a petroleum engineer for over 45 years oil and gas industry. He previously worked for Amoco and Transcontinental before founding Cypress. Phil built Cypress Operating by purchasing under-managed assets and reducing costs while increasing production. He currently focuses on investor relations.
